
What are your hours of operation?
Our schools are open from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Monday through Friday.
What is the age-range of the children at your schools?
Our students range from six-weeks old to 12 years of age.
What will my child do during the day?
Your child will participate in a wide variety of teacher-directed and child-initiated developmentally appropriate activities. A typical day may include an art experience, literary activities, music activities, playing with toys (encouraging fine motor skills), other indoor/outdoor activities (providing gross motor skills development) and math and science activities designed to stimulate cognitive development. There will also be healthy meals and snacks, bathroom breaks and rest periods.
What are the teachers’ qualifications?
All staff members must comply with state required background screenings, local background screenings, and nationwide background screenings. In addition to background checks they must also comply with Childcare Licensing rules and regulations set in place by Hillsborough County and the State of Florida. 1 Teacher in each classroom is certified and has a Child Development Associates degree (CDA). All teachers complete an extensive in-house orientation program and participate in regular training sessions on curriculum enhancement, child development, and classroom management.
How do you safely administer medication?
We require written authorization from the parent and physician in order to administer medication. A medicine log is maintained and only designated caregivers may administer medication. All medications are locked up and out of the reach of children.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes there is a registration fee due upon enrollment of your child in the amount of $50, or $75 for families with 2+ children. We do not charge a registration fee for School Readiness families.
Are meals provided by the center?
We provided hot breakfast, hot lunch and a daily snack. A Child’s Works Learning Academy provides nutritious well balanced meals and snacks that are consistent with the USDA Food Program Guidelines.
What is your policy for inclement weather?
Should severe weather prevent one of our schools from opening on time or at all, we ask that you tune into Hillsborough County School Board instructions. When HCS are closed due to weather we will also be closed. You can also follow us on Facebook where we will always post emergency closure dates and updates.
